Fasting Day 17 - Tuesday February 18th.

The Link Church

Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV) “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Devotion

During our fast, we have been faithful to abstain from certain foods, read our Bibles, and set aside time each day to spend with our Heavenly Father. Most of us probably feel a closeness to Him that we have not felt in quite some time. We hear His voice more clearly and follow Him wholeheartedly. It’s easier to lay aside the sins and the weights that easily ensnares us. But what about when the corporate fast is over?

As we are nearing the end of our fast, don’t stop what you have started. Continue to spend that intimate time with the Lord through prayer and the study of His Word. Remember, He is always saying to you that you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart. Life is like a battlefield, and no one goes into battle alone, so seek Him with a true godly friend or mentor from whom you can learn or be that mentor for someone else. Keep Him and your time with Him the most important part of your day, then even when it seems all hell is coming after you, you can stand firm in Christ.

Keep in mind that, according to His Word in Philippians 4:13, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. But you must stay in tune with Him.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I love You with my whole heart and I praise You for Your continual guidance. As I am nearing the end of my fast, I make a commitment to You today, to continue seeking You through prayer and the study of Your Word daily, even when life gets busy. Thank You for being the source of my strength and joy. As I lean into You, Lord, I am determined to be closer to You throughout this year, than I have ever been. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

As you determine to get serious in your relationship with God this year, mark Isaiah 40:28-31, in your Bible, and read it daily this year. It’s a good idea to jot down the words and put it in a strategic place where you can have easy access to it every day, and even multiple times a day when you are feeling weak or fatigued. Allow the Holy Spirit to be your source of strength every day this year.
